Noise Effects Upon a Simple Timing Channel

Abstract

We investigate the effects of noise upon a covert timing channel in a multi-user computer system. Shannon's information theory is used to quantify the resulting information flow across the channel. Possible Trojan Horse strategies are also discussed.
