Transient Solutions from Scattered Fields in a Waveguide

Abstract

We examine a transient acoustic signal that scatters from a submerged object traversing a waveguide using the object in a waveguide model developed at NOARL. We are concerned with shallow water waveguides using realistic elongated targets. We show how to employ different pulse forms for resonant and nonresonant targets to determine distinguidhing characteristics in the pulse signals that scatter from the target via bistatic measurements. Some numerical examples are presented for both frequency and time domain solution.
