The Influence of the Changing Geomagnetic Field on Cosmic Ray Measurements

Abstract

Cosmic ray cutoff rigidities, numerically computed using geomagnetic field coefficients, are frequency used as an ordering parameter for cosmic radiation data. Examples of the use of cutoff rigidities as an ordering parameter include latitude surveys, long-term galactic radiation studies, and solar cosmic ray event analyses.
