The Technology Transfer Application in the Republic of Indonesia

Abstract

The main emphasis of this thesis is the examination of technology transfer from a theoretical perspective and comparison of this perspective with its application in the Republic of Indonesia. The elements of a transfer mechanism concept such as organization, project, documentation, distribution, linker, capacity, credibility, willingness and rewards are being used for the examination. The role of The Body of The Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT) as the linker between the source of technology from foreign countries and technology users in Indonesia is observed in particular. It is concluded that the technology transfer process is being successfully conducted from theoretical perspectives, and a recommendation is proposed to the BPPT and its associated linker networks in order to maintain its existing performance.
