Metal Oxide Materials and Decontamination Methodology

Abstract

The fucus of this ARO contract was the investigation of metal oxide materials, and in particular d0 transition metal oxide clusters (polyoxometalates), as catalysis for the decontamination of chemical warfare (cw) agents and model compounds of these agents. Secondary goals dealt with delineation of the unusual reactivities exhibited by some polyoxometalate excited states and their abilities to alter unactivated CH bonds in unusual if not unprecedented ways.
