Ultra-Fast Tunable Microwave Filter. Phase 2, Task 2.

Abstract

Varactor-tunable resonant filter elements that use the negative resistance of an FET to overcome the losses of the varactor and the circuit were used to construct two two-section filters. The two filters operate in the 8.2- to 10.3-GHz frequency range. The tuning bandwidth of both filters is 2.0 GHz. Typically, the midband insertion loss over the tuning band is 0 + or -dB; the 3-dB bandwidth is 29 + or - 11 MGz.
