Abstract

Priorities of Soviet Navy missions are changing. The role ofpower projection is likely to decline. The mission of nuclear strikes against enemy territory continues to have top priority. Strategic ASW may be somewhat deemphasized. SLOC interdiction faces an uncertain future, direct support of ground operations is becoming more important.
