Underwater Scattering of Sound

Abstract

The objective of this study is to further the understanding of volume and surface scattering effects on propagation. This report consists primarily of seven reprints: Their titles are: Multiple scattering by finite regular arrays of resonators; High-frequency reflection and scattering by multicomponent rough surface distributions; Comments on resonant systems of scatters; Moments of the Percus-Yevick hard-sphere correlation function; Coherent propagation of sound in correlated distributions of resonant spherical scatters; Regular polygonal arrays of resonant scatters; and Polydisperse scattering theory and comparison with data for red blood cells.
