Synthesis and Characterization of Polysilanes

Abstract

Preparation of polysilanes by sonochemical reductive coupling, modifications, and ring-opening polymerization is discussed. Various random copolysilanes are prepared by reductive coupling in order to control phase transition in solid copolymers. Polymers are characterized by GPC, NMR, UV, DSC, and electron microscopy.
