Interactive Nonstructural Analysis Package
Abstract
These programs were designed to aid in the analysis and formulation of nonstructural flood plain management plans. Damageable property is identified by an identification number. A single point may represent a single structure or group of structures. Four types of data may be input: structure data, such as type of structure, construction material, condition; hazard data, such as location in the flood plain, depth of flooding, stage-frequency relationship; economic data, such as depth-damage relationships, value of contents or structure and; environmental data, such as indicators of special environmental, ecological, or historical significance. The programs assist the user in sorting through all structures in the flood plain and selecting those structures of special interest. For example, all structures of wood frame in the 5-year flood plain may be selected. For any or all structures selected for analysis, detailed structure, flood hazard, economic, or environmental data may be displayed interactively. Expected annual damage is computed. The user may input modifications to the structure interactively, e.g., raise or protect, and have expected annual damage computed.
