Military Handbook: Mission-Critical Computer Resources Software Support

Abstract

This standardization document, short-titled The Software Support Handbook, is an attempt to improve costs through standardization of related concepts and management procedures. The Software Support Handbook was developed by the Department of Defense with the assistance of military departments, federal agencies, and industry. It is a cornerstone document, covering pre- and post-deployment software support operations. In addition to a standard definition and detailed description of software support and the post-deployment software support and transition planning, post-deployment software support resource analysis, software support activity resource requirements planning, and post-deployment software support concept alternatives.
