Acquisition Semantics

Abstract

This report discusses some of the terms used in the acquisition process to describe the various phases, milestones, categories, etc. Misinterpretation and lack of understanding often leads to confusion among these responsible for carrying out the process. The authors have gone to the original documents to provide the precise definitions with references, examples, and explanations for each of these words. It is the intent of this report to provide a common ground of understanding for those involved in material acquisition.
