Evaluation and Validation Reference Manual. Version 3.0.

Abstract

The Ada community, including Government, industry, and academic personnel, needs the capability to assess APSEs (Ada Programming Support Environments) and their components, and to determine their conformance to applicable standards(e.g.,MIL-STD-1838A, the CAIS standard). The technology required to fully satisfy this need is extensive and largely unavailable; it cannot be acquired by a single government-sponsored, professional society-sponsored, or private effort. The purpose of the APSE Evaluation and Validation (E and V) Project is to provide a focal point for addressing the need by: (1) Identifying and defining specific technology requirements; (2) Developing selected elements of this technology; (3) Encouraging others to develop additional elements; and (4) Collecting information describing elements which already exist.
