U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Library Study

Abstract

A recent report issued by M.I.T., 'The Corporation of the 1990's', states that information and the way information is managed within an organization, will be key components of an organization's success. The contractor, MSC, was engaged by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) to review their libraries in planning for the future of this segment of the USACE Information Management program. MSC was asked to collect information, analyze this information, and make recommendations for consideration for future actions. This report summarizes the study's findings on the library's missions, services provided, use of technology and management and provides recommendations in these four areas.
