High Frequency AUTODIN Interface (HFAID) Test Report

Abstract

Data circuit throughput performance was collected for a DCS Mode I circuit interfaced and transmitted over an HF radio line using HF data modems and the Zenith/INTEQ High Frequency AUTODIN Interface Device (HFAID). The HFAID allowed a comparison the data throughput for various character packet sizes (5, 10, 20, 40, and 80 character) to be made. Test data was collected using an HF channel simulator and over a 2000 mile HF radio link. Test done by the Joint Interoperability Test Center at Fort Huachuca, Arizona.
