The research program was divided into main areas: Semiconductor Materials, Processes and Circuits, and Information Systems. The work units and tasks within each of the above areas are summarized below, the investigator responsible for the unit. (1) Semiconductor Materials, Processes and Circuits, a. Molecular Beam Epitaxy of High T sub c Superconductors, b. Physics and Applications of Ultra-Small, High Temperature Superconductors, c. Reactive Ion Profiling of Heterostructure, d. GaAs on Si Integrated Circuits, e. The Electronic Structure and Interfacial Properties of High Temperature Superconductors, f. Semiconductor Laser Structures for Optical Interconnects, g. Quantum Computing, and h. Applications of SiGe in MOS Technologies; (2) Information Systems a. Packet Equalization, and b. Fast Arithmetic Computing with Neural Networks.
