Linear Phased Array of Coaxially-Fed Monopole Elements in a Parallel Plate Waveguide

Abstract

The performance of a coaxially-fed monopole element in an infinite array environment in a parallel plate guide is analyzed. The analysis takes into account the geometry of the coaxial feed. Expressions for active admittance, coupling coefficients, and element patterns are given. Numerical data is presented for relevant parameter values, judiciously selected to illustrate the various design trade-offs. The numerical results show an excellent agreement with experiment.
