Intelligence Analyst Associate (IAA): A Preliminary Analysis and Specification

Abstract

Intelligence analysts who process and analyze data from unformatted text are currently faced with a number of serious problems. These include an overwhelming volume of input text, and a lack of automated tools to help process and analyze the text. The Intelligence Analyst Associate (IAA) is the first effort in a long term approach to solving the unformatted text problem. This paper presents a preliminary definition of the operational problem, and a preliminary specification of the requirements for solving it.
