Navy-NASA SSM/I Validation Experiment KRMS Data Products

Abstract

The Navy Ka-band Radiometric Mapping System (KRMS) was used to acquire high resolution passive microwave imagery of sea ice in the Bering, Chukchi, and Beaufort Seas during the joint Navy-NASA SSM/I validation experiment in March 1988. Additionally, imagery of rivers and lakes was acquired in the vicinity of Fairbanks, Alaska, on two different days during this period. Information presented here constitutes an index to digital tapes of KRMS imagery acquired during these flights.
