Abstract

This report explores the effect that demographics will have on the nation as a whole and the construction industry in particular. Topics include the effect demographics will have on society and the workforce, age and composition, projections for the construction industry, projections for the workforce that will be required to fill growth needs, the present condition of the workforce engaged in construction, the paths that workers follow to enter the trades, factors that affect job satisfaction, composition of the construction workforce, the image of the industry and its workers, training that meets the needs of industry, and training that is being supplied.
