United States Air Force Computer-Aided Acquisition and Logistics Support (CALS). Logistics Support Analysis Current Environment. Volume 1

Abstract

An analysis of the current environment within the Acquisition stage of the Weapon System Life Cycle pertaining to the Logistics Support Analysis (LSA) process, the Logistics Support Analysis Record (LSAR), and other Logistics Support data was undertaken as part of the U.S. Air Force Computer Aided Acquisition and Logistic Support (CALS) Program. This investigation of this LSA/ LSAR environment was coordinated by the CALS Management Integration Office (MIO) at HQ AFSC. This volume (Volume 1) of the LSA Current Environment report identifies the major LSA/LSAR issues, based on a review of several weapon system acquisition programs. These issues are based on input from both the Air Force and Contractors, and on findings from the organizational assessment, the IDEF sub 0 model, and data flow modeling activities contained in Volume 2 of this report.
