On the Definition and Calculation of Effective Impedances

Abstract

This report addresses the use of averaged boundary conditions as a method of analysis for electrical scattering from large structures which are geometrically complex on a scale much smaller than a wavelength. The emphasis is placed on how they may be used for the study of frequency selective surfaces, and a simple example is given concerning a sparse array of small thin dipoles. (Author)
