A Discontinuity Study in Shielded Coplanar Line

Abstract

A study of the shielded coplanar line (SCPL) is presented. The main goal of this theses is to develop an equivalent circuit model for a typical discontinuity in the SCPL. The formulation is based on Galerkin's method, using Green's function applied in the Fourier transform domain. The impedance (Z sub 0) has been calculated by using a variational method. The propagation constant (beta/omega) and effective dielectric constant of the SCPL have been calculated by using a method of moments. The cut-off frequency of this wave guide has been obtained by a theorem of Van Bladel and Higgins.
