Operable Unit B Remedial Investigation Sampling and Analysis Plan. Installation Restoration Program (IRP) McClellan Air Force Base

Abstract

This Sampling and Analysis Plan (SAP) has been prepared for the Air Force for the purpose of aiding in the implementation of a final remedial action plan. As the SAP relates to actual or possible releases of potentially hazardous substances, its release prior to an Air Force final decision on remedial action is in the public interest. The limited objectives of this SAP, the ongoing nature of the IRP, and the evolving knowledge of site conditions and chemical effects on the environment and human health, all must be considered when evaluating this SAP since subsequent facts may become known which may make this SAP premature or inaccurate. Partial contents include: site topography and surface features; soils; surface water; ground water hydrology; geology; hydrogeology; ground water flow; site history; use, storage, and disposal of chemicals; contamination distribution; soil gas results; drilling methods; sampling methods; surface soils/sediment sampling; monitoring well drilling, installation, and development; aquifer tests; surface geophysical surveys; and a health and safety plan.
