Coarsening of delta' (Al3Li) Precipitates in Aluminum-Lithium Alloys

Abstract

This final report is divided into four independently written sections: (1) Coarsening of delta (Aluminum, Lithium) precipitates in an al-2. 7Li-0.32 Mn alloy; (2) The influence of Zireconium on the coarsening of 8' (Al3Lic) in an al-2.7Li-0.14Zr alloy; (3) The influence of 8'(Al3Li) Volume Fraction on The kinetics of 8' coarsening and the shape of the 8'(Al3Li) Particle Size Distribution (PSD's); and (4) Preliminary Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) Results in the Al-Cu-Mg-Li System.
