The Instability of Linear Heterogeneous Lanchester Equations

Abstract

It is shown that the structure of the linear Lanchester attrition matrix leads to invariant properties associated with the sum of the eigenvalues and to the conclusion the linear Lanchester equations are inherently unstable.
