The Surface Impedance Synthesis Technique

Abstract

A synthesis technique is discussed in the solution of inverse electromagnetic scattering problems. The technique generates possible surface profiles for a scatterer from a desired scattering pattern. Then, the surface impedance distribution of a particular surface profile can be determined to produce the desired scattering pattern. Limitations on the specifications of the scattered field are also discussed.
