Team Interactive Decision Exercise for Teams Incorporating Distributed Expertise (TIDE2): A Program and Paradigm for Team Research. (Version 1.0)

Abstract

This report describes a networked software program called TIDE2 and shows how this program can be used in scientific studies in the area of team decision making. The relationships between this program and the existing groups literature, as well as the theoretical framework driving the current research program are described. Although the initial scenario includes hierarchically arranged teams operating under stressful conditions, the programs flexibility allows for different scenarios and non-team applications, and the procedures for manipulating these are laid out. TIDE2 also has sub-programs for collecting, sorting and analyzing data, and these are described, along with the systems requirements needed to run the program.
