Detection of Outgassing in Electroplated Tin Deposits

Abstract

The outgassing characteristics of matte deposits from generic bright acid tin baths which are operated to produce matte deposits are very similar to the outgassing characteristics of bright acid tin. Methods are proposed to differentiate between true matte tin and a matte tin finish produced by a generic bright acid tin bath.
