Results of the 1987 Archeological Investigations at the Travis 2 Site, 39WW15, Walworth County, South Dakota

Abstract

This report presents the results of archeological investigations undertaken during the summer of 1987. The focus of the investigations was the Travis 2 site, 39WW15, located on Corps of Engineers administered land approximately one km southeast of the community of Mobridge in Walworth County, South Dakota. The work included an exhaustive literature search, site mapping, surface collections, hand dug and mechanical test excavations, and analysis and interpretation of results. All artifactual materials recovered will be stored at the South Dakota Archaeological Research Center in Rapid City.
