Catalog of Wargaming and Military Simulation Models

Abstract

The 12th Edition of the Catalog of Wargaming and Military Simulation Models contains descriptions of simulations, war games, exercises, and models in general use throughout the Department of Defense and in the defense establishments of Australia, Canada, England, and Germany. The individual models are listed alphabetically. Each catalog entry includes the date of implementation; the proponent, point of contact, purpose description, construction, sidedness, and limitations of the model; the improvements and modifications that are planned for the model; the input to and output of the model; the hardware, software, security classification, frequency of use, and users of the model; and general data pertaining to the time requirements of the model. The catalog draws upon inputs from analysis agencies in the various defense establishments, independent contractors and research organization, and similar catalogs of games and simulations. The inclusion of a specific model in the catalog is at the discretion of its proponent and does not in any way constitute endorsement of the model of the Force Structure, Resource, and Assessment Directorate (J-8) of the Joint Staff.
