Exploratory Development of an Ultrafast-Curing Wound Dressing

Abstract

A drug-dispensing field dermal dressing has been developed. The dermal dressing, which can be easily applied by an untrained person, contains antimicrobials to prevent bacterial infection. The medicated dermal dressing is made of an ultra-fast curing polyurethane oligomer which is designed to cure at room temperature and delivers drugs on a controlled, sustained and highly reproducible basis.
