Baseline Hazardous Waste Stream Characterization Survey at the 21st Tactical Fighter Wing Elmendorf AFB, Alaska

Abstract

At the request of USAF Regional Hospital Elmendorf/SGPB (PACAF), the Armstrong Laboratory, Occupational and Environmental Health Directorate, conducted a baseline hazardous waste stream characterization survey at Elmendorf AFB from 25 Feb-1 Mar 1991. The scope of this survey was to sample and analyze all active waste streams and oil/water separator sludge from selected sites and to characterize selected drums containing unknown material. The survey team performed a shop-by-shop evaluation of all waste streams and met with hazardous waste managers to discuss their waste programs.
