An Introduction to the Army Personnel System

Abstract

This report presents an overview of the U.S. Army personnel system for enlisted soldiers. Topics include the resources used to recruit qualified candidates, the preliminary screening undertaken with potential applicants, the testing procedure for all candidates, and the process of classification into military occupational specialties (MOS). The report also discusses the procedure of enlistment, the incentives available for enlistment, and a brief overview of initial training. A glossary of commonly used acronyms is included.
