Preventive Maintenance Automated Cost-Effectiveness Review (PACER) program Users Manual: Prototype Version.

Abstract

The PACER Program is an automated system that provides Army installation maintenance managers with preventive maintenance (PM) cost- effectiveness comparisons, a prioritized roster of PM tasks, and an upward reporting service for maintenance cost data. PACER is an acronym for PM automated Cost-Effectiveness Review. PACER requires a minimum configuration of an 80286 processor with 512 kilobytes of random access memory and a 20-megabyte hard drive, using MS-DOS or PC-DOS (Version 3.3 or higher), and an IBM or Epson- compatible printer. PACER provides automated cost estimation/computation and PM data collection for key PM managerial and reporting functions. PACER can also help evaluate maintenance cost records and provide projections on useful life and replacement times based on estimated and empirically derived inputs.
