Interservice/Industry Training Systems Conference 1990 (12th): SIMNET fighter Aircraft Application

Abstract

This report describes the preliminary investigation defining problems of expanding real-time simulation of fighter aircraft to a distributed simulation network. The 12th Interservice/industry Training Systems Conference (VITSC) was selected as the test site to prove the concept. VITSC provided an arena for linking simulators from several manufacturers and laboratories. Six fighter aircraft simulators participated in the network along with a simulated ground control intercept station and semiautomated forces providing threat aircraft.
