Integrated Information Support System (IISS). Volume 8. User Interface Subsystem. Part 38. Electronic Documentation System (EDS) Development Specification

Abstract

This specification establishes the development, test, and performance requirements of an integrated set of computer program collectively known as the Electronic Documentation System, referred to as EDS. The Electronic Documentation System is intended to support the movement of a compound document through the document life cycle. Document life cycle phases are editing the document (creation/revision), formatting the document, imaging or printing the document, storing the document, and possible transfer of the document. The proposed system will include computer programs which will assist in these life cycle steps. Application programs and software tools defined below are designed to operate upon a document so as to prepare it to move or to actually move it from one phase in the document life cycle to another.
