Development of a Modular Transient Cycle Analysis Program for the Adiabatic Diesel and Other Compound Diesel Engines

Abstract

This final report covers a broad range of research activities, each of which contributes to the improved application of zero-dimensional engine cycle codes and/or multidimensional computational fluid mechanics (CFM) codes to engine design. Most of the work focused on problems related to in-cylinder heat transfer.
