GRASS-Intergraph Data Conversion Guide

Abstract

This guide outlines methods for bi-directionally translating vector data between Intergraph Graphics Design Software (IGDS) and the Geographic Resources Analysis Support System (GRASS). GRASS is a microcomputer-based image- processing and geographic information system (GIS) used to develop, manipulate, analyze, and display geographic datasets. Since both CADD and GRASS use digital spatial data (e.g., maps), this data translation capability can create joint applications between the two systems. This report describes the necessary translation paths, data format organization, data editing, and procedures to translate data between the two systems.
