A Combined Lumped Parameter/One-Dimensional Blowdown Model for the Regenerative Liquid Propellant Gun

Abstract

A new model for the regenerative liquid propellant gun has been developed. The model is lumped parameter except for the gun tube, which is one- dimensional. The purpose of the new model is to cover the blowdown phase, after the projectile has excited from the gun tube. The gun tube profiles are then used as input for a thermal management code, which computes the heat transfer to the gun tube.
