Flow Resistance in Packed and Fluidized Beds: An Assessment of Current Practice

Abstract

Currently used packed and fluidized bed flow resistance models of propellant charges are examined. The underlying assumptions are contrasted and described. Experimental evidence in support for their validity is delineated. Suggestions for the improvement of existing approaches as well as the experimental data still lacking for model development are outlined.
