In Situ/On-Site Biodegradation of Refined Oils and Fuels (A Technology Review). Volume 2. Appendix A. Supplementary Text.

Abstract

This extensive literature review covers all aspects of in situ and on-site bioremediation of gasoline, middle distillate fuels, and other refined petroleum products, using information available through 1988. Topics covered include: composition of different fuels, factors affecting biodegradation rates, responsible microorganisms, degradation pathways, factors enhancing biodegradation, and potential limitations. This report is in three volumes. Volume 1 covers general information of most interest to managers and non- specialists. Volume 2 contains technical information required for in-depth coverage. Volume 3 covers related information, including detailed applied information on screening and microbial enumberation methods, laboratory microorganism studies, bioreclamation site preparation, bioreactor use and selection, cost data, and competing technologies. Bioremediation, in situ, fuels, on-site, biodegradation, literature review.
