Real-Time Systems

Abstract

This paper presents an introduction to the basic issues involved in real-time systems. Both real-time operating systems and real-time programming languages are explored. Concurrent programming and process synchronization and communication are also discussed. The real-time requirements of the Naval Postgraduate School Autonomous Under Vehicle (AUV) are then examined. Autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV), hard real-time system, real-time operating system, real-time programming language, real-time system, soft real-time system.
