A New and Novel Method for Mask Leak Detection

Abstract

The protection factor provided for tobacco smoke was compared to the protection factors of isoamylacetate (banana oil) using 80 human volunteers. The findings show that, in general, people are more sensitive to tobacco odor than banana oil odor; that Blacks are more sensitive to tobacco odor than Whites; and that females are more sensitive to banana oil odor than males.
