Using Simulation to Analyze the United States Army Expert Field Medical Badge Test

Abstract

This research examines strategies in organizing.and scheduling the Expert Field Medical Badge Test for the Academy Brigade, Fort Sam Houston, Texas. The report initially describes the background of the problem and the current heuristic employed to solve it. Then, the report defines the research. objective;, presents a data collection plan, and describes the simulation model and program. Next, the experiment al design for the study is presented followed by the results of the experiment. A heuristic is developed to assist the simulation program user in arriving at the best EFMB test organization for a given number of candidates. The simulation model is written in the SLAM II simulation language. Simulation, military, medical, EFMB, SLAM.
