Non-Binding Arbitration
Abstract
This pamphlet describe 'non-binding Arbitration', a private dispute resolution process in which a dispute is submitted to an impartial and neutral person or panel who provides a written, non-binding opinion used as a guide for negotiations towards a settlement. Non-binding arbitration is one of a number of alternative dispute resolution techniques which the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is using in an effort to reduce the number of disputes requiring litigation.
