The Effects of Hydrazines of Neuronal Excitability.
Abstract
The hippocampal slice preparation has been used to demonstrate that hydrazines cause seizures. Electrophysiological, biophysical and pharmacological techniques were used to examine the effects of hydrazines at both a single neuron and a systems level in mammalian hippocampus. The investigators have demonstrated that hydrazines increase neuronal excitability and the rate of neuronal firing, but the mechanisms by which they produce these effects remains to be elucidated.
