Mechanical Properties of Centrifugally Cast Metal Matrix Composites

Abstract

The objective of this report was to determine the tensile and compressive mechanical properties for two metal matrix composite (MMC) aluminum cylinders manufactured by Westinghouse STC, Advanced Materials Department, through use of a centrifugal casting process.
