Performance Oriented Packaging Testing of Container, Shipping and Storage, for the MK 132 Mod O Mine Refurbishing Kit for Packing Group II Solid Hazardous Materials
Abstract
This Performance Oriented Packaging (POP) test was conducted to ascertain whether the Shipping will Storage Container for the Mk 132 Mod 0 Mine Refurbishing Kit meets the Packing Group 11 requirements specified by the Code of Federal Regulations, Title 49 CFR, Parts 107 through 178, dated 31 December 1991. The packaged commodity used for the test was one inert Mk 1 32 Mod 0 Mine Refurbishing Kit weighing 82 kg (1 80 pounds)). This represents the current maximum commodity weight. To compensate for future growth variations in commodity and/or packaging, 9 kg (18 pounds) were added. Gross weight of the loaded container was 132 kg (291 pounds).
