Abstract

This is a tutorial for building an expert system in Soar using the TAQL programming language. It provides a self-contained reference for the end- to-end development of a Sonar system that accomplishes a particular task. It presents a natural-language task description, a system design, and a sample implementation, including a documented code listing. It also discusses chunking (Soar's learning mechanism) in the context of the sample implementation.
